The CAPSTONE Project (CAPacity Strengthening of Transdisciplinary Education for Non-Communicable Disease Care in West Africa) commenced a five-day consortium meeting at the MRC Atlantic Boulevard, aimed at strengthening education, research, and capacity development to address the growing burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
The opening session brought together consortium partners from the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and Ghana, all committed to advancing transdisciplinary approaches to NCD prevention and care. The event was attended by the Vice Chancellor of The University of The Gambia, alongside university staff, reflecting UTG's commitment to supporting initiatives that promote health innovation, research excellence, and regional collaboration.
The CAPSTONE Project is implemented through a consortium of regional and international partner institutions and is funded by the European Union in The Gambia , whose investment continues to strengthen capacity in Higher Educational Institutions across West Africa.
Over the next three days, participants will engage in discussions and activities geared towards advancing the project's objectives and fostering lasting impact in NCD care and prevention.
